Individual vs. Association Disability Policies
Your most valuable asset isn't your house or your car, it is your ability to produce income. For this reason you need to protect your income with a guaranteed contract.
The difference between individual and group policies is like the difference between owning and renting a home. When you have an individual disability policy you OWN the policy. Your premiums and definitions are guaranteed and the policy can not be revoked.
Association policies, on the other hand, often change the premiums you pay based on age brackets, and the definitions can be changed by the company. You do not own the policy, there will be restrictions on portability and the policy is less dependable than individual policies.
